We hit some special events last week and got to speak to Bob Nolet, the current ‘heir to the throne’ and 11th generation distiller about the ‘house’ being in Melbourne. “We know from previous trips that Melbourne drinkers have more discerning palates, the bars and bartenders here are the best in the country and we think Melbourne is a great fit for the brand”. So much so that Bob was on hand to personally take visitors to the house through a comparative tasting session three people at a time in a specially designed area. For a guy worth so much money, this dedication to teaching people about the quality of his product is genuine and special. And the attention pays off, with hundreds of people now learning the difference between good and bad vodka.
While you’re there marvel in the great pop-up vibe and craftsmanship that has gone into the house. With a tip of the hat to the craftsmanship that goes into creating Ketel One, the space has been put together by the creators of State of Design and featuring the great local talent of Ben Cobham, Geoffrey Nees, Tim McMonagle and more. The custom built space is impressive, so jump this chance to grab some free tickets!
