I was recently introduced to the Awesome Foundation. I immediately dismissed it as a clever pyramid scheme with a great name. BUT, it turns out that this is above board, revolutionary, motivational, entrepreneurial brilliance that is more than worthy of it’s name.

The initial snag is that a group of people want to give you a $1000 in cash for submitting a great idea. And they do it every month. No questions asked, no returns to deliver, no reports to compile, no red tape to drown in. But how?

Crowd sourcing $100 from 10 members that are entrepreneurs just looking to give back and foster great ideas in the community, they meet once a month, discuss their favourite submissions then hand over a cool grand in the hand to one lucky person.

There are chapters popping up all over the world, but Melbourne is strong and delivering some money for some solid ideas. Recent recipients have included The Rooftop Honey Project, that crazy macaroon covered Mini that was doing the rounds and a host more ideas that innovate, inspire, help or amaze.

You’ve got until 25th September to get your ideas in for this month’s round. If you miss it, relax, there is always next month. The submission process couldn’t be easier, just hit the foundation’s site and tell them briefly about your project.

Think big, grab a grand, do something awesome. Pretty easy.
